Upcoming Events
Ed Foundation visit', Thursday, July 17th, 2pm
Ed Foundation - Shirley > Collaboration with Board of Education (Witherspoon). BoE doesn't have an easily findable summary of what technical education is being taught within the city school system. Our plan is to acquire information as to what technical educational programs are offered locally, how they work and which do not, so as to support school tech education efforts and to plan our own class offerings. We need the connections offered by the Ed Foundation in order to do this. This background research will help RMM develop our own class offerings.
Ed Foundation (addition) > Steven Weiss. Guidance counselors are becoming (or are) limited to their time and level of knowledge in available curriculum.
Ed Foundation > coalition for business, educational leaders in Birmingham who have an interest in the school system improving, with the aid of new leadership. Previous school leaders are being scrutinized for found reasoning. Financial decisions were of the most concern. changes are around the 'bend' due to re-elections of new personnel in the school system/board.
Ed Foundation > Teach for America, representatives, J.W. Carpenter, executive director, and 'Forte', his executive assistant.
