Minutes

Call to membership & general public for year-end donations. This is the first time we're doing this.
501(3)c application status report
  • We can use the simplified version of the form 1023-EZ
  • WIll cost $400.00 (IRS)
  • Aiming to send in application at end of January 2015
  • Treasurer's report - cash on hand - $2200.00
City business license - director's details collected for City business license application
Preparation for lease negotiation with landlord
  • 1/2 of floor area at back need to be replaced, down to joists and subfloor.
  • Ceiling needs to be sound-proofed and 2nd-floor plumbing rerouted.
  • Pipes under first floor needs to be rerouted.
  • (Discussion of work required)
  • We want a floor that is relatively level, no lips or seams
  • Paint existing walls and the installed ceiling
  • Needs to be done by end of December.
  • We need the floor demo'd and the ceiling completed
  • Floor needs to be 2 layers of 3/4" ply to support the equipment
What can we contribute?
  • Mykel - floor demo
  • Russell - help with ceiling and floor
  • Shirley - cleanup, painting
What do we want to go into the negotiation with?
(much discussion of other options, possibilities)
We need to have good project management from landlord so that the job is done on time.
Much of our future growth depends on finishing the back space.

Option One

We keep paying $700/month, we put in the deck, materials need to be delivered on time for the work
Landlord provides dumpster, scaffolding, does the plumbing repairs, sound-proofing and closes the ceiling, crew for demo and extra labor so that there are no delays.
We sign the lease when the work is done.

Keep landlord on track, focus on the close.

Votes

All in favor of the strategy -
