Back Burner

Minutes

Old Business

Inventory project
No further progress - Shirley hasn't got the input forms tested yet
Has checked with our insurer - we can get an estimate on insuring the space equipment later in the year once an equipment inventory is complete.
Insurance
Liability insurance policy with McGriff, Siebel & Williams needs to be renewed next week - quoted price is $1106
Space issues - what is the status on the back room?
Landlord has promised that work will start within three weeks - (mid-July?)
Continuing delay is a problem - we need to continue work developing the space, systems & organization, but need to be portable.
We will not have leverage until we have another space lined up.
Website update
Web/IT working group will be holding a second working meeting next Wednesday to test new website theme, custom CSS for the Wild Apricot CRM, API to database development for RFID system, and continue preparation work for website migration.

New Business

School of Engineering question - how can they help us?
Dr. Alan Eberhardt from UAB's School of Engineering came to visit the space last Thursday.
Took away ideas for the Engineering School, left us with question - how can they help us?
Shirley identified grant-writing, but what else?
Discussed some at meeting, (space, sourcing equipment, pipeline of recent grads with on-campus makerspace experience to space)
Shirley requested input from board, makers and members.
For record, the on-campus makerspace will be built in the Sterne library building and will be open to all students.
