Hall painting - 10 people out to paint. First coat went up. Thanks Steven Wyss, Shirley Hicks. Alison, Mark Gilbert, his friend Julie, John Rhymes, Trae Watson, Stephen Ricks, Sandy Campbell and ?
Second day scheduled on Sunday, 3 people came out to paint. Thanks Katie Elkins, Shirley Hicks and John Rhymes.
Still to be finished - rear east hall, another retouch in the center hall.
Phase 2 (to be scheduled) - will be second meeting room, side hall, ceramics area and center safety/first aid area.

Work thaat still needs to be done - rad removal in 2nd meeting room, currently detached from system, can tip over easily. Marked with caution tape. Mark Gilbert looking into removal options, including calling Sloss arts group to salvage it for reuse in casting.

Member storage area has been moved to right rear room at end of east hall. JC and Sandy covered exposed pipe to render area safe. Member storage cabinets moved into room and light fixed. Old member storage area (the seventies lounge) is now a second meeting room. Can be used now for small meetings and group activities now.

Upcoming events

Celeste has arranged a fermentation workshop with Harvest Farms. Will be in the next two weeks, watch Meetup page for updates. Will be a paid event. Celeste negotiating space usage rate.

Projects

Paint the halls - update above.
Planter soaker hose installed. John will get the rest of the hardware for watering automation project.
Trae - prior art wiki statement
Trae - will be working with Alabama Sustainable Agriculture Network - will be doing some installation sculpture. Some work to be done at the space.
TrimTab brewery project - call for interest to help them solve a jig project. Take discussion outside of meeting.

    • Plan is to disperse books to relevant labs, with collections being reviewed to ensure that they have current and useful information. (Fiber lab currently has best collection of materials)
