V. New Business

1. Voting on nominees (some votes are not "consensus" style votes)
2. Any New Nominations? (for future votes)
Shae Dukes nominated for membership, by Louis Willie, and seconded by Chris Lais.
3. Any Parking Requests? - no
4. Surprise proposal - Michael Jones and Nicole Mubarak, YWCA representative (friend of Shirley, Michael not present)
YWCA kids came and toured this week.
Coming out of this, YWCA is very interested in developing a joint program to encourage their kids to explore tech.
Sandy Campbell and Michael Jones making commitment to develop program proposal and equipment requirements
Nicole Mubarak to send copy of an existing YWCA program proposal outline to serve as model document, as well as deadlines for submitting proposal
YWCA to secure funding for program once outlined.
5. Proposal to take part in Birmingham's Innovation Week - going to take part.
Initial thought - have an open house. Low preparation requirements, can show we are at. Need to ensure that new sign-up system is ready and that we have outreach materials prepared. -- Shirley
Agreement from membership present. Initial proposed date - Thursday, August 19th.
(late breaking note from Shirley - that date won't work - already has events scheduled. We need to commit to a Monday night or a Wednesday night)
6. Security info update for makers and agreement of responsibility for keyholders. Reason for this - Provides information necessary for makers and members to ensure personal security at space. Second doc details keyholder responsibilities for space security. This is important as we are only allowed a limited number of false alarm calls before we are charged penalty fees. All keyholders need to check perimeter to ensure that all doors and windows are locked when they are the last person to leave the space.
7. Anyone got anything for Show-n-Tell?
John Rhymes showed the new functional controls on his robot build.

VI. Adjournment

7:38 pm - meeting adjourned till next week 7pm
floor is now open for discussion and RMM tours (two interested prospective makers shown space and given enrolment forms)
